Coast Salish Wool Dog
These were a distinct breed maintained by Coast Salish peoples for their wool, which was harvested and woven into blankets and textiles before large-scale access to sheep wool. Early explorers and ethnographers described them as small, white, long-haired dogs often kept separate from other dogs to preserve the breed.
